Middle School prep requires a unique balance of generous affirmation and critical feedback. My approach centers realistic expectation-setting to fend off perfectionism and unhelpful self-doubt. We find ways of blending the technical exercises with the joyful parts of making as a young artist, all the while keeping an eye on the specific audition criteria of the middle school.
